Water & moisture resistant

Vitec has been tested in boiling water for up to 24 hours and still retained it's original form.
Fire resistant

Vitec panel has been used to fabricate a door frame. This was successfully tested in accordance to ASTM E2074-00.
Increased strength

Vitec treated panel dramatically increases internal bond strength. Tests indicate up to 80% increase over some MDF panels.
Environmentally friendly

Vitec is environmentally friendly with the
elimination of formaldehyde and no
off-gassing.
Surface

Vitec has a smooth non-glossy satin like
finish that is excellent for painting or
staining.
Increased screw holding ability

Vitec’s screw holding capability is
significantly improved compared to MDF.
Hinges screwed into Vitec were put through
over one million cycles and remained tight.
Excellent machining and superior cutting capabilities

Vitec has excellent machining
characteristics. It can be lathe turned,
milled, drilled, tapped, routed, sawn and
sanded with CNC controlled equipment or
common hand tools.
Shaping ability

Shortly after the HARCwood® process the
Vitec panels can be formed into shapes such as circles.
Insect and mold resistant

Wood destroying insects and decay causing
micro-organisms do not recognise Vitec as
being a food source. Therefore it is mold, rot and termite resistant.
Durability and hardness

A 6mm Vitec panel withstood a water jet
at 2700psi for 60 seconds with almost no
surface damage. An 18mm fibre cement
panel put through the same test resulted in
a hole through the panel.
